You have tried adjustments before. Maybe they helped for a day or two. Maybe they did nothing at all. The problem was never chiropractic itself. It was the approach.
We assess before we adjust.
Your first visit is a 60-minute evaluation of your full movement chain, not a 10-minute back crack.
Adjustments matched to your body.
Manual, instrument-assisted, or low-force techniques, chosen based on your assessment, not a one-size protocol.
Not chiropractic in a silo.
Your chiropractor works alongside physiotherapy, shockwave, and exercise so your care is coordinated, not fragmented.
60-minute one-on-one assessment + treatment plan.
No pressure, no contracts.
If any of this sounds like you, keep reading.
You have tried chiropractic before and it helped for a day or two, then the pain came right back.
Your last chiropractor did not explain what was wrong or what the plan was. You just kept getting the same adjustment every visit.
You have been told to "just keep coming back" with no clear endpoint and no explanation of why.
You are not sure if chiropractic is actually evidence-based or if it is just "cracking bones."
You are willing to try again if someone can actually explain why it would be different this time.
The Basics
Chiropractic care is a hands-on healthcare discipline where a licensed clinician checks how your joints are moving, how your muscles are working, and where your body is compensating. If some joints are stiff or moving poorly, your chiropractor uses their hands or a small instrument to gently move the joint so it functions more normally, which can reduce how your nervous system processes pain.
Think of a stiff joint like a sticky hinge. A skilled adjustment helps the hinge move smoothly again. Exercise and better movement habits keep it that way so it does not get sticky again. That "hands-on plus active" model is exactly how international clinical guidelines position chiropractic care.
Chiropractic is one of the most studied manual therapies in the world. It is hands-on, non-surgical, and drug-free.
What happens in your body during chiropractic care
In short, chiropractic care works by combining a targeted mechanical input with your nervous system's natural response. It does not just treat symptoms. It helps your joints move and your body function the way it is supposed to, especially when paired with exercise and active rehabilitation.
Why It's Different Here
Quick adjustments, minimal assessment
Quick adjustments with minimal assessment. In and out in 10 minutes.
60-minute initial assessment
60-minute initial assessment that examines your full movement chain, joint mechanics, strength, and history before any treatment begins.
Same adjustment, no plan
Same adjustment every visit with no clear plan and no defined endpoint.
Evolving plan with a defined endpoint
Treatment plan that evolves as your body responds, with clear milestones, honest timelines, and a defined discharge point.
Chiropractic delivered alone
Chiropractic delivered alone, with no supporting therapies or exercise plan.
Integrated multimodal care
Chiropractic integrated with shockwave, exercise rehabilitation, and soft tissue work when your case needs it. Guidelines recommend this combined approach.
One technique for everyone
One technique for every patient, regardless of comfort level or body type.
Manual, instrument, or low-force options
Manual, instrument-assisted, or low-force options selected based on your assessment findings and your preferences. You choose what you are comfortable with.
Chiropractic care works best when it is delivered with precision, combined with the right supporting therapies, and built around a clear plan. That is what we focus on here.
Our Team
Unpain Clinic has offered chiropractic care as a core part of its multidisciplinary approach since the clinic's founding. Our chiropractor holds a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) designation and brings focused experience in manual and instrument-assisted adjustments, soft tissue techniques, and exercise-based rehabilitation.
We believe chiropractic care should be assessment-driven, not protocol-driven. Every patient gets a thorough evaluation before any treatment starts. If the assessment shows that chiropractic is not the right fit for your case, we tell you directly and refer you to the appropriate pathway.
Your chiropractor works alongside our physiotherapists, massage therapists, and technology-based treatment options so your care is coordinated. One team. One plan. No gaps.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
FIRST VISIT
Your chiropractor assesses your full movement quality, joint mechanics, strength, neurological function, and health history. Not just the area that hurts.
They determine whether chiropractic care is the right fit for your case, or whether a different approach would serve you better. Red flag screening and safety assessment come first.
You walk out with a clear written plan: treatment recommendations, expected timeline, and transparent pricing. No surprises.
WEEKS 1 to 6
Each session includes hands-on treatment (manual or instrument-assisted adjustments, soft tissue work) tailored to your body's response. Your chiropractor explains what they are doing and why.
When your case needs it, chiropractic is combined with shockwave therapy, EMTT, or other modalities to address soft tissue restrictions that may be preventing joint changes from holding.
Progress is tracked at every visit. Your treatment plan evolves based on how you respond, not on a fixed protocol. You are kept informed at every step.
Goal: meaningful reduction in pain and improved function within the first 4 to 6 weeks.
6+ WEEKS AND BEYOND
As pain decreases, exercise and movement retraining are layered in. This is what keeps results lasting. Adjustments reduce symptoms. Exercise builds the capacity to stay pain-free.
Home exercises, movement guidance, and lifestyle modifications are provided between visits to support your recovery outside the clinic.
You have a defined discharge point. Treatment frequency tapers as you improve. You will know when you are done. This is not "come forever."
DURING TREATMENT
Before your session
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. No special preparation is needed. For your first visit, bring any imaging or previous reports you have. For return visits, your chiropractor reassesses your movement and symptoms before every session so treatment is always current.
During the session
Treatment typically lasts 20 to 40 minutes. Your chiropractor may use manual adjustments (a quick, controlled movement at the end of a joint's range), instrument-assisted techniques for a lower-force option, or soft tissue work. You may hear a pop during an adjustment. That is normal joint cavitation, not bones cracking or "going back into place." Your chiropractor explains every technique before using it. You are in control. If anything feels wrong, say so and we adjust immediately.
After your session
You may notice improved range of motion and reduced stiffness right away. Mild soreness in the treated area is normal and usually fades within 24 to 48 hours. Your chiropractor will give you specific guidance on activity, stretches, and any home exercises to do before your next visit. Most people start to notice meaningful changes within the first few weeks of their treatment plan.
Most patients describe a sense of relief and improved movement after their first session. Your chiropractor explains every technique before using it. Nothing happens without your understanding and consent.
EVIDENCE
Chiropractic care is one of the most studied manual therapies in healthcare. Dozens of randomized controlled trials and multiple systematic reviews have examined its effects. Here is what the research consistently shows.
Spinal manipulation has been shown to reduce pain in chronic spine-pain populations, with effects comparable to other guideline-recommended conservative treatments in multiple systematic reviews.
Function and disability scores tend to improve after a course of chiropractic care, with small to moderate gains confirmed across meta-analytic reviews.
Research suggests spinal manipulation can reduce local mechanical pain sensitivity, which may contribute to easier and more comfortable movement after sessions.
International clinical guidelines (including NICE and WHO) include spinal manipulation as a recommended conservative option for musculoskeletal conditions, particularly within a treatment package that includes exercise.
A dose-response trial found improvements sustained through 52 weeks, supporting the durability of results when chiropractic care is combined with active rehabilitation.
Chiropractic care is a non-pharmacologic approach. Guidelines commonly recommend trying conservative, non-drug strategies before considering medication or more invasive options.
Evidence is strongest for spine-pain conditions such as chronic low back pain and neck pain. For other musculoskeletal areas, research continues to grow. We will tell you where your case fits during your assessment.
Outcomes are group averages from clinical trials. Individual results vary.
SAFETY
Chiropractic care is widely considered safe when delivered by a qualified, licensed practitioner. The most common side effects are mild and resolve quickly. Serious adverse events are rare. Research shows the risk profile of chiropractic care is lower than long-term NSAID use or surgical intervention. A large population-based study found that the rate of stroke after chiropractic visits was no higher than after visits to a primary care physician, suggesting that patients with early symptoms of arterial dissection may seek care from either provider type before the event occurs.
Mild soreness in the treated area. Usually fades within 24 to 48 hours.
Temporary headache after treatment. Typically short-lived.
Brief increase in existing symptoms before improvement begins.
Mild stiffness or fatigue following treatment.
People with chronic or recurring back, neck, or joint pain who want a non-surgical, drug-free approach.
People whose pain limits daily activities like sitting, walking, sleeping, or working.
People looking for a conservative option before considering injections or surgery.
People who want their treatment paired with exercise and a clear plan, not open-ended visits.
People with suspected or confirmed fractures, spinal instability, or recent significant trauma.
People with suspected malignancy or active infection involving the spine.
People experiencing severe or rapidly worsening neurological symptoms such as sudden weakness, numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control. These may require urgent medical evaluation.
People with sudden severe neck pain and headache alongside neurological symptoms, where vascular screening and referral may be needed.
These are normal responses and typically indicate your body is adapting to treatment. Not sure if chiropractic care is right for you? That is exactly what the assessment is for. We screen for safety first, then build your plan.
